Dr Jeremy Lewin practices as a Medical Oncologist at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne and is the Medical Director of ONTrac at Peter Mac Victorian Adolescent and Young Adult Service. In addition, Dr Lewin serves as the medical oncology lead of the sarcoma group at Peter Mac and sits on the scientific advisory committee of the Australia and New Zealand Sarcoma Association. 

Dr Lewin completed his Medical Oncology training in Melbourne in 2013, before spending three years as a Drug Development Fellow at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto, Canada. Since returning to Australia, his clinical and research interests have primarily focused on: (i) experimental therapeutics with the aim of investigating subtypes of sarcoma with a poor prognosis (ii) clinical trial access with a focus on equitable trial access for adolescent and young adults (iii) reducing morbidity/rationalizing surveillance strategies for those in survivorship. Based on these, he has been successful in achieving a variety of awards and grants, including ASCO and ESMO merit awards, the Children’s Oncology Group Aflac AYA grant and Novartis Oncology Young Canadian Investigator Awards.

In 2020, Dr Lewin was appointed VCCC Alliance Research & Education Lead – sarcoma. Building on the work previously developed by Associate Professor Jayesh Desai, Dr Lewin will continue to deliver strategic educational programming, strengthen relationships across the paediatric/adult sector and build on mechanisms for sarcoma data utilization across the network.
