Yvonne Panek-Hudson, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre nurse practitioner in the Haematology Service, specialising in the long term follow up of patients’ post-allogeneic bone marrow transplant. Yvonne was the joint recipient of a Victorian Department of Health Fellowship in 2012 and visited cancer survivorship centres in the USA.

Description

With over 1 million people living with or beyond their cancer diagnosis, cancer survivorship care is a priority in the community.

The Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) with The University of Melbourne presents half-day workshops in cancer survivorship for general practitioners, nurses and allied health professionals.

This collaborative, interactive session will enable discussion with like-minded professionals from a range of disciplines keen to deliver best-practice care for patients with cancer during and after treatment. The workshop will provide an overview of cancer survivorship, an understanding of the shared care model as well as tools and resources for supporting patients with cancer in the community.
