Imaging breast cancer metastasis to bone

Monday Lunch Livestream with Dr Raymond Yip

Researchers at WEHI have developed a pipeline to perform large scale three-dimensional imaging to characterise changes in the bone marrow tissue during disease progression.

Join Dr Raymond Yip who will review how metastatic mammary tumour cells in a distinct region of bone marrow remodel local vasculature to support expansion. This work highlights the potential to target bone metastasis by intercepting tumour-microenvironment interaction.

Dr Raymond Yip

Dr Raymond Yip received his BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry and PhD in Developmental Biology from the University of Hong Kong. He joined the Breast Cancer Laboratory co-led by Prof Jane Visvader and Prof Geoff Lindeman at WEHI in 2017. During his postdoctoral training, he has translated his expertise in skeletal development to studying the role of the bone microenvironment in breast cancer metastasis.

He recently moved to the Hawkins/Rogers/Bowden Laboratory to investigate multiple myeloma bone microenvironment using spatial multi-omics technologies.
