Professor Bruce Mann is a specialist breast surgeon with clinical positions at the Royal Women’s Hospital, Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, he also holds honorary appointments at the University of Melbourne and the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute.
With over 20 years’ experience, Professor Mann began his training in Melbourne followed by a PhD from the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research and a fellowship at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, New York and the National Cancer Centre Hospital, Tokyo.
Professor Mann has successfully led several clinical trials; implementing new approaches to cancer care with evidence-based, best practice standards. In addition, over the last 15 years, He has been central to the development of processes for tissue banking and data collection to enable translational breast cancer research.
The VCCC Alliance Research and Education (R&E Lead) Breast Cancer program has developed a learning environment where researchers and clinical care teams can share information to improve cancer outcomes.
The VCCC Alliance Breast Cancer Grand Round aims to provide a shared view of what is happening in the development of breast cancer care and is helping to stimulate discussion and collaborations among experienced and novice researchers and clinicians.
