A Shared Vision: Prioritising consumers in research
“Whoever gets to define what is important to fund or develop within a service will shape the future of cancer treatment and care.” – VCCC Alliance Deputy Chair Professor Sanchia Aranda.
Researchers, clinicians, consumers and those who work with them are invited to join our annual Consumer Engagement Forum on 7 December 2022 to learn about the revolutionary role consumers can play in setting research direction, preparing research applications and educating through lived experience.
Twelve months on from our last Consumer Engagement Forum, Professor Sanchia Aranda's words set the scene for continued progress and advocacy for effective and meaningful consumer involvement.
This year's forum builds on the themes of 2021, offering an educational space for attendees to improve their understanding of the role of a consumer, and the capacity of consumers to influence the direction of research.
Through practical examples and case studies, we'll explore the impact of consumer involvement from early stages of research applications and planning, and how consumers can help clarify critical research questions.
True collaboration forms from the beginning.
