A/Prof Anita Horvath

A/Prof Anita Horvath is the Academic Lead, Clinical Research Training in the Department of Medical Education, University of Melbourne and in this role directs three award level research courses, including the Master of Clinical Research. Anita completed her PhD in medicine and worked as a senior medical researcher overseeing a translational research program in haematology and thrombosis research. She has extensive expertise in teaching clinical research methods and evidence synthesis. She is an enthusiastic educator in clinical research and an advocate of research training both in Australia and internationally. She currently leads an International health research program for the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS), an international research collaboration with key universities in Indonesia and the University of Melbourne. She is a recognised leader in internationalising clinical research capability and research competency in clinical trainees and is actively involved in collaborations with international universities for clinical research program development to inform research competency. Her current research interests include the use and implementation of evidence based medicine, research training impacts in clinical/medical international clinical trainees and transition and professional identity formation in medical students.

This workshop will incur a $100 commitment fee to attend for medical specialists, a $75 fee for nurses, allied health and researchers, or a $50 fee for students, trainees and consumers. This is in place to address attrition and partially offsetting the cost of convening the sessions.
