Honouring Jo Leonard
The leadership scholarship is in honour of Jo Leonard who was a longstanding and valued member of the MBS. In August 2016, Jo lost her battle to ovarian cancer - leaving her husband, teenage children and a huge network of family and friends. Jo first commenced with the MBS in 1999 supporting Executive Education programs as a facilitator and executive coach. She worked with many public and private sector clients including the highly successful BHP Billiton Graduate Program and was a key facilitator for the MBS Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) programs, her favourite being Leading for Organisational Impact, Executive Education - MBS.
“Our medical schools have as many women as men entering the profession now, however fewer women progress to leadership roles. I would like to work in some way to action change and address some of the challenges faced by women in our profession, at my institution and within the VCCC alliance,” A/Prof McLachlan said. She will undertake the program in October this year.
