Emeritus Professor Linda Kristjanson AO will step down from her role as Chair of the VCCC Alliance Board at the end of her second term, in June 2023.
Professor Kristjanson has guided our alliance through a period of rapid and dynamic growth with strength, vision, energy, and compassion - always with an eye to the patients we are here to serve.
We owe her a huge debt of gratitude for her service and for the values she has instilled in the fabric of this alliance. Uniting major institutional stakeholders in a complex environment, while creating a sense of shared purpose and clear future direction has required enormous commitment, dedication and a special talent for strategy and diplomacy.
Her decision to step down after seven successful years as Chair, comes as the VCCC Alliance is about to enter a new phase of strategic planning and growth. We have a huge opportunity to build on the strong foundations that Linda has helped to forge.
Executive Director of the VCCC Alliance, Professor Grant McArthur, said she leaves an amazing legacy from her time with the alliance. “I am very sad to see Linda go and will miss her guidance and sharp insights, but she leaves us in a strong position ready for further growth and new perspectives as we begin to write the next chapter for this ambitious alliance,” he said.

Reflecting on her tenure as Chair, Professor Kristjanson said, “To serve as Chair of the VCCC Alliance has been one of the highlights of my public service, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to such a vital organisation.”
Emeritus Professor Linda Kristjanson will complete her term with the VCCC Alliance on 30 June 2023. The new Independent Chair will be appointed by the Victorian Minister for Health.
