Chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy

Dr Paul Beavis, Group Leader, Cancer Research at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre will be talking about the chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy of breast cancer. Paul will highlight the current challenges to effective cellular therapy of breast cancer and the current approaches being explored to overcome this from both a pre-clinical and clinical perspective.

All with an interest in breast cancer research, prevention, detection and treatment are encouraged to register. Students are welcome.

Massive Mother's Day virtual event

Also on the calendar – is Mother’s Day - and one of Australia’s largest events in support of breast cancer research. Due to COVID-19 restrictions on social distancing, like so many events the 2020 Mother’s Day Classic fun run won’t be going ahead as a physical event this year. Instead, it has reshaped into a virtual walk or run, encouraging everyone to keep healthy and get active, stay motivated and connected to help bring our community together.

In Victoria, the event normally attracts close to 30,000 participants in up to 35 events across the state from Melbourne; and to events ranging across to Horsham, Wodonga in the north, Bemm River in Gippsland and south to Warrnambool.

Now, participants have been invited to walk or run 4km or 8km - in their local area, their backyard, even in their lounge rooms – on, or before Mother’s Day on 10 May.

Register online now for May events and experience how things can be done differently to support breast cancer research.

Happy Mother's Day for Sunday 10 May 2020.
