Critical questions and challenges in the COVID-19 era

Expert webinars available to all

In response to the challenges involved with managing cancer care during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) partnered with Monash Partners Comprehensive Cancer Consortium (MPCCC) to develop the Victorian COVID-19 Cancer Network (VCCN). A major initiative of the VCCN has been to provide support, advice and discussion through a webinar series presented by metro and regional experts.

Expert webinars available to all

In response to the challenges involved with managing cancer care during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) partnered with Monash Partners Comprehensive Cancer Consortium (MPCCC) to develop the Victorian COVID-19 Cancer Network (VCCN). A major initiative of the VCCN has been to provide support, advice and discussion through a webinar series presented by metro and regional experts. Topics have included: 

  • Coordinating a clinical response
  • Protecting patients and health workers
  • Understanding models of care
  • Approaches to advance care planning
  • Enhancing telehealth communication skills

Webinars are open to anyone interested to attend and generally offer a chance for health professionals to ask questions either during the discussion or following.

Next webinar: Impacts and opportunities for the clinical trial sector

The Victorian clinical trials sector is now preparing to re-open and increase recruitment; potential opportunities include engaging with new research areas, providing special services and attracting increased trial activity.

Professor Mark Rosenthal, VCCC Clinical Trials Development Lead and Director, Parkville Cancer Clinical Trials Unit will moderate this discussion on Victoria’s clinical trials sector progress development and will look at taking advantage of opportunities after the pandemic shutdown.
