Learning and development opportunity

During October, a series of four webinars will assist nurses to master specific research skills and expertise. The 60-90 minute webinars will provide participants with the opportunity to ask questions, workshop ideas, and share their own experiences. Hosted on Zoom by specialists in the field and supportive nursing staff in attendance, distinct learning outcomes will give you the confidence to take your new skills into practice.

Register now for the free webinars in October. You must be a nurse to attend.

Wednesday 14 October, 3.00pm - 4.00pm
Presenting Qualitative Data
Qualitative data describes qualities or characteristics. It is collected using questionnaires, interviews, or observation, and frequently appears in narrative form. For example, it could be notes taken during a focus group.

Tuesday 20 October, 3.30pm - 4.30pm
Behaviour Change
Have you ever wanted to improve a clinical process, patient experience, or work-related system but don't know where to start? This webinar aims to introduce the Behaviour Change Wheel as a way to guide how to systematically develop and evaluate complex interventions.

Tuesday 27 October, 2.00pm - 3.00pm
Presenting Quantitative Data
Quantitative data are used when a researcher is trying to quantify a problem or address the "what" or "how many" aspects of a research question. It is data that can either be counted or compared on a numeric scale.

Thursday 29 October, 3.30pm - 4.45pm
Knowledge Translation
This workshop builds on the previous webinar earlier in the year and will provide an interactive introduction to models and frameworks that can be used to guide and inform knowledge translation (KT) and implementation in health contexts. (Attendees can view the previous workshop online prior to attending this one).

Recorded webinars from earlier in the year are now available online to view at your leisure. They include Experience-based Co-design (EBCD), presented by Professor Theresa Wiseman, Clinical Professor of Applied Health Research in Cancer Care from the University of Southampton. EBCD is an approach that enables staff and patients - or other service users, to co-design services and care together in partnership.

You can also watch Fundamentals of Grant Writing for Nurses, Ethical Review of Human Research Projects, COVID-19 and Research Considerations. The webinars have been edited into segments of around 10-20 minutes each to make them accessible for easy viewing.

Watch these webinars and more, including Nurse-led Research Case Studies.
