Over 130 cancer experts help overcome cancer together

  • VCCC Alliance

New VCCC Strategic Program Plan steering group members appointed

The VCCC alliance is delighted to announce the appointment of 137 people to guide development and implementation of the VCCC's new Strategic Program Plan 2021-24. This includes 18 consumers joining other cancer experts to form nine specialised steering groups to enable the achievement of ambitious goals to improve outcomes for more Victorians with cancer.

Well over 300 submissions to join the steering groups were received from across metropolitan and regional Victoria, indicating a high level of interest in the opportunity presented by the VCCC's collaborative model and the impact that can be achieved collectively.

As an alliance organisation with a broad remit to benefit all Victorians, the structure of our Program Steering Groups is based on criteria that ensures expert representation and balance across a wide range of considerations. Overall, the VCCC SPP Steering Groups represent 30 institutions with women making up 57% of the total members.

Congratulations to all the Steering Group members - we look forward to working with you all to shift the dial on some of top priorities and most challenging issues in cancer in Victoria.

Additional opportunities to participate in the work of the programs will be communicated through VCCC newsletters during the year.

The Strategic Program Plan will be officially launched in June 2021, for implementation through to 2024.

Meet the steering group members.
