Town Hall meetings generate feedback and ideas


St Vincent's team provide insights for future planning

VCCC Town Hall meetings kicked off this week at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne followed by a combined meeting at the Royal Children’s Hospital for RCH and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute staff.

The objective of meetings is to provide staff, researchers, educators and administrators in the cancer workforce, as well as consumer representatives, the opportunity to provide feedback to VCCC on planning for its next strategic research plan.

VCCC Town Hall meetings kicked off this week at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne followed by a combined meeting at the Royal Children’s Hospital for RCH and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute staff. The objective of meetings is to provide staff, researchers, educators and administrators in the cancer workforce, as well as consumer representatives, the opportunity to provide feedback to VCCC on planning for its next strategic research plan.

VCCC Executive Director, Professor Grant McArthur and Associate Director, A/Prof Anna Boltong hosted the first of the meetings at St Vincent’s, attended by Professor Tom Kay, St Vincent’s Institute of Medical Research, Professor Jennifer Philip, Chair of Palliative Medicine, University of Melbourne and Angela Nolan, St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, Chief Executive Officer, who commented on the pivotal role VCCC can take in building efficiencies and the alliance’s ability to foster the willingness, capacity and culture to collaborate for better outcomes.

St Vincent’s Director of Oncology and Cancer Services Associate Professor Sue-Anne McLachlan commented on the positive aspects of the meeting, saying “It is great to have the opportunity to share how things happen at St Vincent’s and how that fits into the alliance.”

Meetings will continue during August and all are welcome. Please register for catering purposes.
