VCCC Research Conference 2019: The Next Wave

Abstracts now open

Following the outstanding success of the inaugural research conference in 2017 this unique event promises to be a dynamic experience for cancer researchers, clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals, students and the general public alike, promising to bring together the best minds, best ideas and latest research in an innovative and thought-provoking conference.

This event will showcase emerging and high-potential research directions in a special two-day program.

The Next Wave

Are Victoria’s excellent outcomes for cancer patients a result of good luck or good management?

What’s on the next wave of immunotherapy research?

How can new digital and AI technologies be used to empower patients?

These are just some of the big questions our line-up of national and international speakers will be tackling at the VCCC Research Conference 2019. 

We are thrilled to announce some of our confirmed speakers including:

  • Professor Doug Hanahan, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne, Switzerland
  • Professor Steve Baylin, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA
  • Professor Thomas Merchant, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, USA.

Plus a fantastic line-up of local and national experts.

The abstract submission portal will be open on our conference website from Thursday 9 May 2019 to Thursday 6 June 2019. The Conference Research Committee will review all submissions. Best abstracts may be considered for oral presentation throughout the event.

All are encouraged to submit however the committee encourages early career researchers from a wide range of disciplines in cancer research.
