This role will assist in providing strategic direction for the Cancer Consumer Advisory Committee and the consumer engagement strategy it governs as directed by the Chair. This role is to support the Chair in developing a skilled Consumer Network to integrate the expertise of a lived experience in program design and delivery. In addition, the role is to build collaboration and support effective consumer engagement in regional initiatives to help improve cancer outcomes.
The Cancer Consumer Advisory Committee (CCAC) was established in August 2015 and provides advice to the VCCC Alliance Board, Executive Director, and the staff team on consumer engagement across all dimensions of the work of the VCCC Alliance. Foundations have been established with substantial achievements including, but not exclusive to, the production of an online toolkit of resources, implementation of consumer remuneration procedures, a highly popular annual consumer engagement forum and evidence of consumer advocacy at state, national and international level. The Committee aims for continual development of consumer engagement capability and effectiveness.

We are seeking a motivated cancer consumer* from regional Victoria with:
* Cancer consumers are patients, families, carers, and other support people. It includes in a broad sense anyone affected by cancer.
The time commitment is associated with monthly CCAC meetings (formal and informal), participation in the quarterly Consumer Network meetings and varying other Strategic Program Plan (SPP) requirements.
Remuneration will be offered to Committee members in accordance with the VCCC Alliance Accounting and Financial Management Policy and related procedures.
