The VCCC Alliance coordinates a regular program of lectures, workshops and internships to support the professional development of the cancer workforce and to share the latest news, evidence and ideas in cancer care and research.

Monday Lunch Live

This popular, free lecture series open to all attracts local and international experts from across the spectrum of cancer research and clinical care, and is held via webinar every Monday.


Workshops are held regularly at VCCC Alliance member locations throughout Melbourne. They are coordinated by the VCCC Alliance and presented by the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, The University of Melbourne.  

Knowledge Translation for Researchers - Clinical Research Workshop

Gain skills and strategies for effectively communicating research to a range of audiences and end-users.  This one-day intensive workshop offers practical tools for embedding a plan for impact across all research stages, using a knowledge transfer framework approach. 

Understanding the Research Pipeline - Clinical Trials Workshop

An introductory one-day seminar designed for emerging medical, allied health and nursing clinical researchers interested in the ‘research pipeline’ and how to develop a clinical trial from idea through to protocol.

Basics of Clinical Supervision - Clinical Teaching Workshop 

Interactive and immersive, this seminar aims to develop the busy clinicians’ critical understanding and application of educational principles, learning, motivation and assessment in the workplace.

Biostatistics – Clinical Research Workshop

Designed for the non-statistician, this popular workshop explores beyond the simple how-to of statistical testing to delve into the underlying concepts and rationales for hypothesis testing.

Internships and Secondments

SKILLED: a pathway to clinical trials expertise

The SKILLED internship program provides a pathway for students to build role-specific clinical trial knowledge, experience and skills in a clinical trials unit. Interns gain on-the-job training with VCCC Alliance members and collaborators in metro and regional locations.

Nurse-led Research Hub

The hub provides the opportunity for nursing practitioners with an interest in research to develop on-the-job research capability and mentoring via a paid research placement in a partner organisation.
