How to access Data Connect
Data Connect acts as a research project incubator, assisting idea generation and concept development and providing advice on analytic methods so that research will impact on patient outcomes.
Data Connect comprises: a data-sharing platform that uses deidentification and linkage software to unlock GP (Patron) data, BioGrid Australia’s established, ethically-approved linkage and access infrastructure, and a Secure Research Environment housed at the University of Melbourne.
It also incorporates expertise and guidance from clinicians, researchers, scientists and academics driving a core team of program management and technical experts specialising in the use of large-scale linked data for research.
The Data Connect team is available to provide advice for researchers in the project design phase to ensure the right data is available, the limitations on interpretation of datasets are understood, and fewer time-consuming ethics amendments are required.
