Dr Javiera Martinez Gutierrez is an Academic GP and Research Fellow with 15+ years of experience in cancer prevention and early detection research in primary care. She holds a MD and master’s in public health. In 2022, she was awarded a Mid-Career Research Fellowship by the Victorian Cancer Agency focusing on a clinical decision support tool to identify patients with unexpected weight loss at risk of undiagnosed cancer, to be implemented in primary care. She has experience leading cancer prevention randomized control trials as well as qualitative research. Javi provides the Data Team with insights on relevant research questions and clinical meaning of the data during data analysis and interpretation of results.
