A/Prof Ananda completed her medical degree at King’s College London and trained in Australia as a medical oncologist. She specialises in treating gynaecological and gastrointestinal cancers, and holds multiple clinical, research and education positions including:
- Director, Cancer Clinical Institute, Epworth Health
- Director, Clinical Trials Unit, Western Health, where she leads the gynae-oncology clinical trials program
- Multiple VCCC Alliance committee roles, past and present including sitting on the Registry Trials, VCCC Alliance Precision Oncology, and New Approaches committees
- Chair, Gynaecological Tumour Group, Cancer Trials Australia
- Professorial Fellow, Department of Medicine, Western Health and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, University of Melbourne
- Director of Education and Director of Training at Western Health Oncology.
A/Prof Ananda is currently Chief Investigator on a protocol looking at circulating tumour DNA in ovarian cancer, in collaboration with WEHI. She has collaborated with ANZGOG, writing a protocol for a trial with a novel agent, a ROR-1 inhibitor in both ovarian and endometrial cancer.
