Victorian COVID-19 Cancer Network

Health professionals supporting health professionals during the pandemic

The Victorian COVID-19 Cancer Network (VCCN) was established in March 2020 in response to the challenges involved with managing cancer care amid the global health crisis. Its purposes are to provide support and advice to clinicians and health care services treating patients with cancer during the COVID-19 pandemic; advocate for patient needs and support the cancer workforce across the state.

The VCCN was created as a joint initiative between the VCCC Alliance and Monash Partners Comprehensive Cancer Consortium (MPCCC), with collaboration from the Victorian Integrated Cancer Services and Cancer Council Victoria and support from the Victorian Government.

The VCCN shares knowledge and experience, bringing together extensive knowledge from individual clinicians, government departments, institutions and patient advocacy groups across Victoria, Australia and internationally.

The VCCN is driven by clinicians who volunteer their time to contribute thus the activities of the VCCN continue to adapt and evolve with the demands and impact of the pandemic.

Led by the VCCN Taskforce, activities include:

  • Guidance to optimise care for patients with cancer
  • Curated information and updates for practitioners
  • Forums for shared problem solving, support and conversations
  • Expert groups in key areas including clinical directors, cancer nursing, telehealth and patient information
  • E-news updates for network subscribers
  • Cancer and COVID-19 education events and webinars
  • Communications and advocacy

Membership of the VCCN is open to health professionals working with cancer patients. To join, please complete the registration form.
