Under the new VCCC Alliance strategic goals 2024-2029, we will strive to apply an equity lens to all projects and activities of each pillar.
The first step will be to ensure data are accurately captured within projects. To achieve this, the Health Equity team can advise and guide each project on the best practice to include equity into work plans and projects.
Another aim of the VCCC Alliance is to support improvements in data collected by advocating on standardised data collection particularly on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and regional patient populations.
Resources and governance models will be developed to educate and train health professionals and consumers on merits and impetus of collecting data that is culturally appropriate for these priority population groups.
