Consumer Engagement Forum 2024

A shared vision: Equity for all

Join us as we strive for a cancer sector where every voice is heard and shapes lasting improvements in cancer outcomes.

The VCCC Alliance is excited to co-host its 6th annual Consumer Engagement Forum in partnership with Bendigo Health and Loddon Mallee Integrated Cancer Service.

Significantly, the forum will be held for the first time in regional Victoria, at Bendigo Health. It builds on our collective efforts to strengthen local regional consumer advocacy, as well as effective engagement practice.

This year’s forum is dedicated to advancing equity in regional cancer care through building lasting partnerships with consumers and community. Participants will hear diverse perspectives about patient navigation and support including for refugee communities and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

There will be panel discussions and small group activities to explore how small, intentional changes at an individual level can create greater inclusive practice. This enables everyone to have an impact on making positive changes to cancer outcomes by listening to the lived experience.

Participants have the opportunity to:

  • Gain insights into building lasting relationships through consumer involvement to support collaborative efforts in continuous improvement.
  • Learn strategies to actively involve consumers and diverse communities ensuring all voices are respected.
  • Hear how consumer involvement can identify gaps to improve patient-centred care and be active partners in their health and wellbeing.
