Precision Oncology Forum

In our September forum, Dr Stephen Luen and a panel of Early Drug Development fellows will discuss some new targeted therapeutics presented at ASCO 2024, including genomic and non-genomic targets.

Targeted therapy highlights from ASCO 2024

Dr Stephen Luen will be joined by Early Drug Development (EDD) fellows who have been working with the EDD / Phase 1 Parkville Cancer Clinical Trial Unit.

In this forum, they will present some new data from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2024 meeting on phase 1 clinical trials that are developing novel targeted therapy approaches including genomic and non-genomic targets.

This hybrid event is part of the VCCC Alliance Precision Oncology Forum series. These multi-disciplinary forums provide opportunities to discuss new research topics in Precision Oncology, as well as interesting and novel cases illustrating the clinical implications of molecular pathology and targeted therapies.

Cases are discussed on an individual, de-identified basis.

Dr Stephen Luen
Medical Oncologist, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre

Dr Stephen Luen is a medical oncologist and translational researcher at Peter Mac with specialist interests in breast cancer, sarcoma, and phase 1 trials. He completed his PhD under the primary supervision of Professor Sherene Loi in 2021 investigating genomic landscapes and drivers in hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative early breast cancers, and continues to work closely with the lab as a postdoctoral scientist.

His current research interests include the study of genomic and immune biomarkers in breast cancer, with a particular focus on investigating biological characteristics and developing clinical trials for high-risk subgroups of patients. Additionally, he has research interests in Precision Oncology approaches, and the clinical development of novel therapeutic agents through early-phase clinical trials.
