The VCCC Alliance is positioned strongly for future growth with the appointment of experienced leader and non-executive Director, James Flintoft, to Deputy Chair of the Board.
Mr Flintoft has extensive government experience including positions as Assistant Secretary in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Deputy Secretary of Agricultural Victoria, and Chief Executive Officer of Regional Development Victoria.
VCCC Alliance Board Chair Professor Sanchia Aranda AM welcomed Mr Flintoft’s appointment at a crucial time for the alliance. “James and I have developed a strong working relationship during his time on the Board,” she said. “His appointment will strengthen our position as we navigate the changing financial situation for the alliance. James brings a complementary skill set including knowledge of government operations and a strong regional development background. I am particularly impressed by James’ commitment to understanding the work of the alliance and his focus on engagement with our partners.”
Mr Flintoft holds Board Director positions with a range of healthcare and government organisations including Epworth Healthcare Group, Burnet Institute, the Transport Accident Commission, Development Victoria, Yulgilbar Group (Myer Family), and Board Member positions with refugee organisation, Foundation House, and Foundation for Rural and Regional Australia.
His executive career included strategy consulting with McKinsey & Co in Sydney, London and Washington, including with pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors; and senior managerial positions in commercial banking with ANZ.

The appointment of Mr Flintoft as the Independent Deputy Chair of the VCCC Alliance board was made by Victorian Minister for Health, The Hon Mary-Anne Thomas MP.
