Expressions of Interest are now open for consumers to be members of working groups as part of a Victorian government-funded Statewide Consumer-led Research Partnership initiative, which aims for consumers to lead transformational change across the cancer sector.
The Cancer Consumer-led Research Partnership involves consumers and staff from five cancer control organisations - the VCCC Alliance, Monash Partners Comprehensive Cancer Consortium, Regional Trials Network, Cancer Council Victoria and the University of Melbourne.
The aim of the partnership is to enhance consumer engagement practices through collaboration and consumer-led approaches but most importantly, to develop a statewide network of consumer leaders while building consumer and organisational capability.
Working groups will comprise a mix of consumers and staff, gender, age, ethnicity, socioeconomic background, and geographical locations.
The program stands out for its consumer-led approach, where decision-making is placed on the consumer perspective. It aims to amplify a diverse range of consumer leaders within the cancer sector, fostering collective impact through their active involvement and roles.
