The VCCC Alliance invites expressions of interest from people undertaking cancer or supportive care research in rural and regional Victoria to share a 30-minute presentation at a two‑hour webinar on either Wednesday 12 August 2026, 9:00–11:00am, or Thursday 29 October 2026, 9:45–11:45am (AEST), via Zoom. Presenters will also be invited to join a brief follow‑up session with interested attendees at a later date.

We are seeking projects that have already completed the ethics approval process and that can help others to develop research ideas, or to make current research more sustainable and/or scalable.

During the presentation, we would love for you to share how and why your project was developed, what worked well, any challenges you faced along the way, provide an overview of your research and your vision for its sustainability.

About the webinar

The webinar, via project presentations and a short panel will demonstrate how research questions are developed and how projects are translated into practice in rural and regional Victoria. It aims to support emerging health services researchers to understand the research process and to help established researchers take the next steps in developing, scaling and sustaining their work.

Specifically, the webinar will:

  • Illustrate how projects progress from idea to protocol using real examples
  • Help established researchers plan translation, sustainability and scalability of their work
  • Foster collaboration, peer mentoring and pragmatic lessons for rural and regional contexts.
Target audience

The webinar is for clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals, researchers and other healthcare workers in regional or rural Victoria, who are interested in cancer and supportive care and want to develop research skills or scale projects beyond their health service.

Intended outcomes:
  • Showcase and celebrate impactful cancer and supportive care research across rural and regional Victoria to inspire attendees and promote knowledge sharing.
  • Connect researchers across regional Victoria to build an integrated, collaborative research community.
  • Strengthen statewide research capacity through a collaborative webinar and a follow-up session for further cooperation.

To express your interest in presenting at one of these webinars, please complete this form by Friday 10 July, 2026.
