EOI: Personalised Cancer Care Consumer Reference Group

Help provide advice based on your experience around the value of integrating molecular tests such as genomics into routine cancer care.

A key role of the Personalised Cancer Care Consumer Reference Group will be to deliver a consumer-led research project, supported by the VCCC Alliance Project team.

25 Oct 2022

The objective of the Personalised Cancer Care Consumer Reference Group is to provide advice based on the experiences of the community around the value of integrating molecular tests such as genomics into routine cancer care. This advice will ensure that services are acceptable, appropriate, accessible, equitable and culturally safe. This represents a major change to the existing approach and will assist cancer diagnosis and treatment.

A key role of this new and exciting group will be to deliver a consumer-led research project, supported by the VCCC Alliance Project team, to drive evidence-based change in relation to genomic diagnostic tests. The reference group will also more broadly provide consumer advice to the newly established Personalised Cancer Care Program at the VCCC Alliance.

This rewarding and interesting consumer role is for a defined period until June 2024, with some specific requirements. Appointees will need to:

  • Be active Community leaders with preparedness to determine interest with their communities, to network, to communicate and to represent findings to the Personalised Cancer Care Committee.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in and enjoyment of learning through active participation in VCCC Alliance education, training, and workshop events.
  • Demonstrate computer literacy with experience navigating and utilising contemporary digital platforms and systems (Zoom, Teams etc.)
  • Have the capacity to commit up to 8 hours per month (to be remunerated) for involvement with the Personalised Cancer Care Consumer Reference group.

Submit your EOI by 5pm, Tuesday 8 November.
