The VCCC was recognised at the international conference of Interactive Collaborative Learning (ICL) held in Bangkok on 27 September 2019.
The Master of Cancer Sciences, a collaborative, post-graduate online degree from the VCCC and University of Melbourne was awarded an honourable mention in the academic division of the 2019 International E-Learning Awards.
International E-Learning Awards are given globally each year for the best work in e-learning, mobile learning, and blended learning in two divisions: Academic and Business/Industry.
Australia’s first cancer-specific, wholly online program is new in 2019 and aims to provide an innovative, multi-disciplinary option for health professionals wishing to join the cancer workforce or gain leading-edge knowledge in the rapidly changing field.
The IELA Awards Committee look for a variety of attributes in award winners. These include, educational soundness and effectiveness, usability, and overall significance.
Sathana Dushyanthen, Graduate Programs Lead, Master of Cancer Sciences says,
“From the outset we have strived to create a highly accessible, innovative learning experience and for something as multifaceted as cancer education to be highlighted among the winners is hugely gratifying. We have hundreds of experts contributing to the program and they can all take credit for crafting such a high calibre program.”
The first cohort of students are into the final term of their first year of study. For 2020, the VCCC will be awarding up to 20 scholarships covering 50% of tuition fees for the first year of the Master of Cancer Sciences. Five scholarships will be assigned to support clinical trials professionals.
