Expanding Victoria’s clinical trial activity requires an experienced workforce with good foundations.

Clinical Trial Assistants and Study Coordinators are key positions in an efficient clinical trial unit.

The Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre’s (VCCC) successful SKILLED internship program will be delivered again in 2020.

Victorian clinical trial units are invited to submit an expression of interest to host an intern. The VCCC works with host sites to support the interns, provide orientation and training, as well as complete standardised requirements.

Hear from the experts

Alexandra Robertson, Royal Children's Hospital shared interns with another unit, this gave her team an opportunity to participate and the interns gained insights into two working environments.

Kylie Shackleton, Parkville Cancer Clinical Trials Unit enjoyed the experience of developing the interns and the team are continuing to use the outcomes of the site improvement program.

Stephanie Bricker, Clinical Trials Assistant intern decided to participate in the program because she wanted to learn more about clinical trials.
