Melbourne MicroCert scholarships have been awarded to an impressive cohort of cancer clinicians, researchers, clinical trial study coordinators, postdoctoral scientists and PhD students from VCCC Alliance member organisations and beyond.
The scholarships are awarded in a move to rapidly grow real-world skills and know-how in using genomic data for personalised care and attracted an accomplished, multidisciplinary group from across our research and clinical institutes and regional Victoria.
Course participants will gain a solid understanding of the key components used to interpret genomic data by examining genomic mutations specific to cancer patients, exploring genome sequencing methodology, and learning about new techniques for collecting and storing genomic samples.
The six-week course will also review contemporary case studies and introduce the latest advances in genomic technologies and clinical applications, and discover how these breakthroughs are helping prevent, diagnose, and treat disease. The practical experience the scholars will gain will be immediately applicable to their professional context.
