Melbourne MicroCerts - Emerging Topics in Oncology series

Using Genomic Data for Personalised Care - Six week course starts Monday 6 June 2022

Learn from leading oncological experts by enrolling in new Melbourne MicroCerts, delivered online through the University of Melbourne. Co-designed with the VCCC Alliance, courses provide practical, in-demand skills students can immediately apply to their workplace, or step into rewarding roles in the specified areas.

Time commitment is approx 4 hours per week, delivered flexibly, allowing you to learn on your own schedule, within the timeframe.

Using Genomic Data for Personalised Care - co-designed with Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance

In this course you will gain a solid understanding of the key components used to interpret genomic data. Examine genomic mutations specific to cancer patients, explore genome sequencing methodology, and learn about new techniques for collecting and storing genomic samples. Review contemporary case studies and be introduced to the latest advances in genomic technologies and clinical applications. Discover how these breakthroughs are helping prevent, diagnose, and treat disease. The practical experience you gain will be immediately applicable to your professional context.

Pathways to further study

Courses can be taken as a stand-alone course or complemented with any other Melbourne MicroCert in the Emerging Topics in Oncology series to deepen your knowledge and skills.

It also offers a pathway – otherwise known as advanced standing – into the Master of Cancer Sciences. To use it this way, you need to complete four Melbourne MicroCerts, two from the Emerging Topics in Oncology series, then apply for credit towards the qualification.
