Dr Brent Venning is a medical doctor specialising in general practice, with research interests in the early recognition and diagnosis of cancer in primary care. He graduated from medicine at the University of Wollongong with first prizes in medicine, pharmacology, paediatrics and surgery and has a Master of Public Health with Excellence from the University of New South Wales. He spent 2021 working with Cancer in Primary Care Team as an academic registrar and in 2022 commenced a PhD using linked data sets to examine patterns of bowel cancer diagnosis in general practice and the associated costs.
