A/Prof David Liu is a Medical Oncologist and Clinician-Scientist at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, with expertise in upper gastrointestinal cancers. His clinical and research work spans translational therapeutics, survivorship, and personalized treatment approaches, with a focus on improving outcomes for patients undergoing complex procedures such as oesophagostomy.
He leads research initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care across the continuum, including nutritional management and survivorship strategies, and works closely with multidisciplinary teams to design innovative interventions. David has partnered with consumer groups and philanthropic organisations, including the Gibson Foundation, to ensure research and care programs are informed by patient perspectives and priorities.
David’s approach combines clinical leadership with translational research, aiming to bridge bench-to-bedside discoveries while fostering collaboration across VCCC Alliance partners.
