The Equity Advisory Group will provide strategic direction to VCCC Alliance Health Equity Program on the development and implementation of strategies to address inequities in cancer outcomes across Victoria. The new consumer member will be an integral part of the group, providing experience, guidance and helping to set priorities for the Health Equity Program.
The VCCC Alliance Health Equity Advisory Group has been established as an initiative of the Strategic Program Plan 2021-24. It provides advice and guidance on how to address inequities in cancer outcomes across a range of diverse communities. Membership of the group currently includes clinical practitioners, researchers and *consumers.
Applicants from regional Victoria, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and people with disability are strongly encouraged to apply.
The VCCC Alliance is committed to supporting equity of access and experience. Flexibility for mode of attendance and format of materials can be discussed with the successful candidate to support effective engagement.
Your familiarity with equity issues will enable you to:
* Cancer consumers are patients, families, carers, and other support people. It includes in a broad sense anyone affected by cancer.
The time commitment includes participating in Equity Advisory Group bi-monthly meetings, preparation and follow-up on meetings and varying other Strategic Program Plan (SPP) requirements.
Remuneration will be offered to consumer members in accordance with the VCCC Alliance Accounting and Financial Management Policy and related procedures.
