The VCCC Alliance is delighted to announce that St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne’s Chief Executive Adjunct Professor Nicole Tweddle has been appointed to the Board.
She replaces outgoing Director, Russell Harrison, Western Health Chief Executive, and Honorary Enterprise Professor at Melbourne School of Health Sciences, the University of Melbourne.
Adj Prof Tweddle previously sat on the Board under the former governance model of member CEOs. Under the new model, member nominated director and independent directors are appointed.
VCCC Alliance Chief Executive Officer, Prof Grant McArthur AO, welcomed Adj Prof Tweddle back to the Board.
“I am grateful to Nicole for her contributions to the clinical services model for Parkville, and for her thought leadership on how collaborative delivery of cancer services can work,” Prof McArthur said. “It will be a pleasure to have her back with us and sharing perspectives from St Vincent’s, a major contributor to cancer care in Melbourne and Victoria.”
Adj Prof Tweddle previously served as Chief Operating Officer at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, where she also acted as interim chief executive, and held senior strategy and development roles at The Royal Melbourne and The Women’s.
Prof McArthur paid tribute to outgoing Director, Prof Harrison for his eight years of dedicated service to the alliance on the Board. “The alliance has benefited from Russell’s strong commitment to cancer and his significant leadership contributions,” Prof McArthur said.
